What Is Acne?
Acne is a disorder resulting from the action of hormones and other substances on the skin's oil glands (sebaceous glands). These factors lead to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called “pimples”. They usually occur on the face, neck, back, chest, and shoulders.
CAUSES:
- Changing hormone levels.
- Oil from skin products (moisturizers or cosmetics) or grease encountered in the work environment (for example, a kitchen with fry vats).
- Environmental irritants, such as pollution and high humidity
- Hard scrubbing of the skin
- Stress
- Heredity
- Certain drugs
How Is Acne Treated?
The goals of treatment are to heal existing lesions, stop new lesions from forming, prevent scarring, and minimize the psychological stress and embarrassment caused by this disease.
What is the procedure at Whiteink?
- During the consult based on your skin condition, for best results, a home care regimen is prescribed including topical and possible oral medications.
- Our revolutionary acne treatment programme with time tested medical grade peels are specially designed to give flawless, smooth skin while controlling the pimples.. The number of sessions and frequency depends on the severity of the acne. We recommend between 6 – 10 sessions of acne peels 2 weeks apart to reduce the acne and decrease the scarring. With each treatment, the skin texture improves with reduced oiliness, clogged pores and acne. The skin feels smoother to touch and radiates a healthy glow.
- In certain selected cases, we even do laser treatment. The new ‘photo-enhanced laser peel’ gives immediate and excellent results
- In few cases, the treatment should be taken at regular intervals to prevent the pores from getting clogged again thereby erupting in pimples. Regular maintenance sessions ensure that the skin stays pimple free.
