What are the causes?

The following  are some of the possible causes of Dark circles under eyes

• Heredity
• Persistent eye rubbing

• Stress -  work pressure,  depression, sleep disorders, etc
• Allergies
  - Hay fever

  - Mold allergy
  - Eczema - i.e. eczema in the skin under the eyes.

Theory behind dark circles:

Dark under-eye circles begin in the capillaries, Frequently, red blood cells leak out of them and wander into the surrounding skin. Enzymes  break down the red blood cells.
 Broken down hemoglobin has a dark blue-black color. Just like a bruise. So your under-eye circles appear dark and bluish.
